Arctos in de auto op weg naar Finland.... (on his way home).

Zo te zien voelt Arctos (ook wel Archie, Arska of Ari genoemd) zich al aardig thuis bij zijn nieuwe familie. (Arctos looks like he has already settled down very nicely with his new family)

De route die Tomi, Tarja en Arctos aflegden van Amersfoort naar Vihti, Finland.

Samu en Arctos bij 'the summer cottage' van Tomi en Tarja, vlak voordat Samu in het water viel waarop Arctos hem volgde en zijn baasjes bijna een hartaanval bezorgde. Gelukkig kunnen puppies van nature zwemmen. (Tomi and Tarja almost had a heart attack when Arctos accidentally fell into the water. Fortunately also puppies know how to swim).

Afkomst verloochent zich niet!! Kijk Esa, dit is nu een echte Hollandse klomp... (Blood will show!!! Look Esa, this is a real wooden shoe from Holland!!)

Nadat Arctos in het water is gevallen, laat Tomi hem zien tot hoever hij kan gaan zonder nat te worden. (Tomi helps Arctos getting acquainted with the water)

Arctos past erg goed bij de vloerbedekking (Arctos goes very well with the carpet :) He's a must have accessory!)

Arctos oefent vast in speuren: hij volgt het spoor van een auto. (Arctos is training his abilities in tracking)

Arctos wacht keurig netjes tot het zijn beurt is om de voerbak uit te likken. (Arctos is waiting for his turn to finish the bowl. He knows his place :) )

Nu is het mijn beurt! (My turn!!)

Arctos in Tarja's rotstuin (in Tarja's stone garden).

Ik was het niet hoor, ik heb die gaten niet gegraven! (It wasn't me, I didn't dig those holes!)

Nee heus niet, ik heb niets gedaan (no, really, I'm innocent, I didn't do anything!)

Deze foto kreeg ik op 22 september. Arctos wacht (on)geduldig op zijn eten. Arctos waiting for his meal. He always acts as if he hasn't seen food for days! (just like the other puppies he's starving!)

Playing with Esa. They are now about the same size. Ari is having difficulties getting hold of Esa and sometimes his mouth is full of Esa's hair.

Zo te zien is Arctos zijn puppy-vacht kwijt en ook is hij donkerder geworden (he lost his puppy hair and his colour has gotten darker now).

Arctos in een tractor: al helemaal gewend aan het boerenbestaan in Finland. (Arctos as a farm worker; ploughing fields with a tractor).

Arctos in de herfst: wat een mooie kleuren en wat een mooie hond wordt hij. (Arctos in autumn: beautiful colours and a beautiful dog!)

De hele hondenfamilie bij elkaar. Klaar voor een uitstapje. Wat een mooie grote transportkooi. (the whole family is ready to go! Nice big cage! Did Tomi make this himself?)

First snow in Finland. A totally new experience for Arctos!

Brrrr....koud!!! Foto gemaakt op 27 oktober, terwijl het in Nederland op dat moment 23 graden was!!!

Op zondag 20 november schrijft Tarja:

Arctos has been well and is always so energetic (we haven't found the on/off-switch yet). Training with the police men is going on every Friday evening. Tomi has not taken part to the biteworks untill now (because of the teething). Just a little of playing with the target man, who by the way has been very pleased with Arctos. "Seldom seen such a talent" etc... The others have been curious about Arctos backround, but Tomi does not say much as he thinks that "let the results speak". We have ordered Arctos an own (heated) dog house so that he will spend more of the day time outdoors (fresh air is good for the dogs and children). Samu is in his own fenced yard  few hours per day. At night time they all are indoors. We live in a safe area but in the eastern Finland (near Russian border) have many dogs been eaten by wolves at night time. 

November 2005: Tarja schrijft: Today we went to Nummela city to socialice Arctos with other dogs and people & to get familiar with sudden noises and happenings. Sunday am. is not the best time for that!! There were only few people and cars on the streets that I had difficulties getting photos with some life in them!

These pictures speak for themselves: lots of attention for his boss Tomi.

December 2005: het is nu echte winter in Finland!!! (real winter in Finland).

Wolven in Finland (wolves in Finland :) ).

Het verwarmde hondenhuis van Arctos wordt afgeleverd en in elkaar gezet. Arctos kijkt of het allemaal wel goed gebeurt.

(Ari got his own dog house to live in during a daily couple of hours. A real country dogs life, with a lot of fresh air and barking! There is a small heater that keeps the house dry.)

Op 22 december bracht Roger Geysen samen met zijn vrouw en kleinzoon een bezoek aan Tomi en Tarja. Roger Geysen is degene die bij mij Arctos voor hen uitzocht.

Mrs. Pellikka was er ook bij. Zij is de fokker van Samu (www.sissinheimon.net). They "inspected" Arctos. Roger was very pleased of what he saw.

Tarja is not there on the picture: unfortunately she's always behind the camera !

Ari was doing his best to be noticed (see the photo). They admired Ari's "body-build" and nature (joyfullness, openness, braveness).
